2. What is the age criteria for admission to Nursery/Pre-Primary classes?

As per Delhi government and CBSE guidelines:
Nursery – child must be 3 years as on March 31 of the academic year.
LKG (Lower Kindergarten) – 4 years as on March 31.
UKG (Upper Kindergarten) – 5 years as on March 31.
Class 1 – child must be 6 years as on March 31.
Age proof (birth certificate) is mandatory at the time of admission.

3. What documents are required at the time of admission?

The following documents are typically required:

4. When does the admission process begin for the new academic session?

The admission process for the new academic session (April-March) typically begins in November-December of the preceding year for Nursery/KG and in January-February for Classes 1 and above, subject to seat availability. 5. Is there an entrance test or interview for admission?

For Nursery, there is no formal written test as per CBSE and Delhi government norms. Admission is done exclusively through a draw of lots. For Classes LKG and above, a written assessment may be conducted to determine grade readiness, along with a parent interaction session.

6. Which board does K.R. Mangalam World School, Vikaspuri follow?

K.R. Mangalam World School, Vikaspuri is affiliated with the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), New Delhi. The school follows the CBSE curriculum from Nursery to Class XII, ensuring a nationally recognised and comprehensive education framework.

7. What are the school timings for different classes?

Nursery and KG: 7:50 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. (Summers)
Nursery and KG: 8:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. (Winters)

Students should reach school by 7:50 AM. School gates close sharp at 7:50 AM – no late entries are permitted thereafter.

9. How does the school assess students, what is the examination pattern?

Nursery – Grade II: No formal examinations. Assessment through checklists, assignments, and observational activities.

Grades III & IV: 2 terms, each with two assessment cycles of 25 marks each, plus internal assessments.

Grades V – VIII: Two-term system. Internal assessments (30 marks) + Mid-Term Exam (20 marks) + Annual Exam (50 marks) = 100 marks.

Grades IX & X: CBSE structure. Periodic Tests, Term Exams, Pre-Board examinations before CBSE Board Exam.

Grade XI: Two terms with Unit Tests and Practical/Project components; Term I = 40%, Term II = 60%.

Grade XII: CBSE Public Examination in Feb/March. School conducts Unit Tests, Mid-Term, First Term, and two Pre-Board Examinations.

Note: Students in Classes IX-XII must maintain minimum 75% attendance in both terms.

10. Does the school provide extra classes or remedial support for weaker students?

11. Is homework assigned daily? What is the school's policy on homework?

The school follows a balanced homework policy aligned with CBSE recommendations. Pre-primary and primary classes receive activity-based, light homework to reinforce learning without burdening young learners. For middle and senior classes, structured homework helps consolidate classroom concepts. The school avoids excessive homework that infringes on children’s leisure and family time.

The Scholar Badge is a prestigious academic honour awarded to students who demonstrate consistent excellence across academics and conduct. To be eligible, a student must:

Achieve a minimum of 90% aggregate marks in all subjects across the academic year
Demonstrate exemplary conduct with no disciplinary remarks on record

The Scholar Badge is presented at the Annual Prize Distribution Ceremony and is noted in the student’s official academic profile. It is considered favourably during senior school leadership selections and recommendation letters.

12. What is the fee structure for different classes?

The school maintains a uniform fee structure for all classes. The detailed fee structure is available at the school’s admission office and on the official website. Fees include tuition fees, annual charges, and development charges. Please contact the school directly for the most current fee schedule.

13. What are the different modes of fee payment?

School fees and other charges are payable as per the fee slip uploaded on the Edunext Parent App. Fee can be paid at the school cashier counter on working days between 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM.

Accepted payment modes:
Cheque in favour of ‘K. R. Mangalam World School’ (post-dated, corrected/overwritten, or mutilated cheques will not be accepted)
Online payment through the Edunext Parent App

Note: To avoid late fee fines, please do not misplace the fee slip. If a cheque is dishonoured, a penalty of Rs. 500 will be charged.

14.What happens if fees are not paid on time?

Any delay in payment of fees will invite a late fee fine as per school policy. It may also lead to the student’s name being struck off the rolls as per Rule 35 of the Delhi School Education Rules 1973.

Re-admission after fee default will only be allowed after payment of all outstanding dues by Demand Draft, including late fee fine and the prescribed re-admission fee/charge.

If the last date for payment falls on a holiday, the preceding working day shall be treated as the last date. Parents facing financial difficulties are encouraged to speak with the school administration confidentially.

15. Does the school provide transportation facilities?

Yes, an optional transport facility is made available to students, subject to seat availability from a particular area. The school operates a fleet of school buses covering major routes. Each bus is attended by a trained staff member for student safety.

Key transport rules:

No student may travel by school bus without a valid Identity Card and in proper school uniform.
The bus will only stop at designated stops and will not wait for late comers.
Parents/Guardians must carry I-Cards issued by the school.
Mid-session withdrawal from transport requires one month’s written notice, or payment of one month’s fee in lieu thereof. Discontinuation is not permitted in the last quarter of the session.
If no seat is available in your area, parents must make their own transport arrangements.

16. How can I check the bus route and timing for my area?

The complete list of bus routes, stops, and timings is available at the school’s transport office. You may contact the transport in-charge at the school’s main number during office hours.

Note: Routes charted by the school will not be changed and requests for route changes will not be entertained.

24. What is the school's anti-bullying and child safety policy?

K.R. Mangalam World School has a zero-tolerance policy for bullying, harassment, and any form of discrimination. The school has a designated Child Safety Committee and a structured grievance redressal system. Age-appropriate sessions on personal safety, respect, and dignity are conducted regularly. Any complaint can be reported to the class teacher, counsellor, or principal and will be addressed confidentially and swiftly.

25. What medical facilities are available on campus?

The school has a dedicated Medical Room / Sick Bay managed by a qualified nurse during school hours. Students are not allowed to enter the medical room without their school almanac.

Return-to-school guidelines after illness: A student recovering from an infectious or contagious disease must produce a doctor’s fitness certificate before returning. Prescribed quarantine periods apply – for example, Chicken Pox (till scabs fall completely), Measles (two weeks after rash disappears), Whooping Cough and Jaundice (six weeks each), Cholera and Mumps (till fully recovered).

Students suffering from infectious diseases like Conjunctivitis, Dermatitis, or Scabies should not be sent to school. Students with chronic conditions (Asthma, Epilepsy, etc.) must be under continuous specialist supervision; their medical history must be filled in the KRM Almanac.

In emergencies, parents are contacted immediately and the nearest hospital is accessible. The school maintains a Medical History record for each student, which parents are requested to keep updated.

26. What is the school's uniform policy?

Wearing the prescribed school uniform is mandatory on all school days (Monday-Thursday) and PTMs. Uniforms must be clean, properly ironed, and complete.

Summer Uniform (Mon-Thu):

Nursery-I Girls: Maroon tunic with cycling shorts, maroon socks, black sports shoes, black ribbons
Nursery-V Boys: Blue cargo shorts, maroon T-shirt, maroon socks, black sports shoes, blue belt
Grade II-V Girls: Blue pleated skirt with cycling shorts, maroon T-shirt, blue belt, maroon socks, black sports shoes
Grade VI-XII Girls: Blue divider skirt, grey half-sleeve shirt; Boys: blue full pants, grey half-sleeve shirt, blue socks

Winter Uniform: Beige skirt/trousers, beige checked shirt with school monogram, blue jacket and sweater, blue tie with beige stripes (girls), grey socks with maroon stripes (boys).

Sports Uniform (Fridays): Track suits according to House allotted, with black shoes (Woollen track suits in winter).

Girls with long hair must make two plaits; boys must have short, neatly cut hair. Fancy accessories are not permitted.

Note: In winters, a school jacket is compulsory. The uniform shop is open for students only during break time on working days.

27. Does the school have a counsellor for students' mental and emotional well-being?

Yes, the school has a qualified Counsellor / Psychologist available on campus. The counsellor works with students on academic stress, social adjustment, peer relationships, and career guidance. Individual and group sessions are conducted regularly. All interactions with the counsellor are completely confidential. Parents may also request a meeting with the school counsellor for guidance on their child’s development.

29. What is the school's policy on mobile phones for students?

Mobile phones are strictly not permitted for students on school premises. As per school rules (CBSE Circular No. DE.23(555)/Sch.Br./2014/1900 dated 03/11/16): if a student brings a mobile phone to school, it will be confiscated for the rest of the session and a fine of Rs. 2,000 will be imposed.

Parents wishing to reach their child during school hours should contact the school office directly.

Parents are also requested to keep their own mobile phones on silent mode as soon as they enter the school premises.

30. How is attendance tracked, and what is the minimum attendance requirement?

Attendance is recorded daily and is accessible to parents via the Edunext Parent App. Students must maintain a minimum of 75% attendance during the academic year failing which, they may not be allowed to appear in the Final Examination in March.

For Classes IX-XII, CBSE rules require minimum 75% attendance in both terms to be eligible for board examinations.

In case of absence, a proper leave application must be submitted in writing by the parents to the principal. For sick leave of more than three consecutive days, a medical certificate is required.

A student absent without reason for more than 6 days may have his/her name struck off the school rolls as per Delhi School Education Rules.

31. Does the school have a canteen? What kind of food is served?

Yes, the school has a well-maintained, hygienic canteen that serves healthy, freshly prepared, vegetarian food at subsidised prices. Junk food, carbonated drinks, and outside food from unapproved vendors are not permitted on campus. Students are also encouraged to bring home-cooked nutritious tiffin. The canteen menu is reviewed periodically to ensure balanced nutrition.
