Echoes of Eras – Inter-House Drama Competition
As the grand finale of English Week, the Department of English hosted the Inter-House Drama Competition Echoes of Eras on 4th May, 2026. The event spanned a century of imagination — from the nostalgia of the 1950s to the futuristic vision of 2050 — with each house presenting a unique theme.
One house dramatized the Y2K Scare, highlighting the hysteria and eventual anticlimax of the millennium bug.
Another contrasted letters and instant messaging, reflecting on the soul of communication across eras.
A third offered an ode to the coming-of-age woman, celebrating courage and determination against societal barriers. The final performance recreated the 196a0s spirit, blending tradition with the vibrancy of modern change.
The competition was more than a showcase of talent; it was a celebration of
creativity, critical thought, and expressive storytelling. With enthusiastic participation and thoughtful performances, Echoes of Eras proved a fitting conclusion to English Week.
