Gandhi Jayanti Was Celebrated in the School
“There is nothing higher than the Truth.”
Gandhi Jayanti is celebrated annually on 2nd October in India to mark the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, the most prominent leader of the Indian Independence struggle. To commemorate the national festival, Gandhi Jayanti was celebrated at K.R.Mangalam World School, Paschim Vihar with an aim to inculcate Gandhian values and to sow seeds of a good human being in students.
The teachers briefed the students about the life history and the values of Gandhiji. His “Mission of Cleanliness” was also explained to the little learners and they were encouraged to keep their surroundings clean. Various activities were planned for the day to depict the beliefs and principles of Mahatma Gandhi for the students. To keep the spirit of cleanliness alive the Nursery and KG children participated in a “Shram Daan” activity. The young volunteers assisted their teachers in cleaning up their classrooms, furniture, shelves, playground etc. and promised to keep their surroundings clean and green. All the students participated whole heartedly with great zeal and enthusiasm.
The day ended with a positive impact on students with a thought that cleanliness is next to Godliness and service to mankind is the first step towards reaching it.
