Baisakhi Celebration
‘The greatness of a culture can be found in its festivals.’ India is known for its various colourful festivals that are celebrated all around the year. Baisakhi is an important spring harvest festival of Punjab and is celebrated every year in the month of April. K.R Mangalam World school strongly believes in the celebrations of the all the festivals to spread love and keep the Mangalites connected to their roots.
Keeping this in mind, Baisakhi festival was celebrated at KRM, Paschim Vihar on 12 April 2024 with great enthusiasm. The Nursery and KG students came dressed up in vibrant Punjabi traditional attires. The day began with prayer, thanking the almighty for his divine grace and was carried forward by a general discussion about the festival.
They were told about various aspects of rural Punjab, its culture and heritage through Power Point presentations showcasing sowing, ploughing, harvesting and gathering of crops. Teachers motivated them to express gratitude towards the farmers and respect them. Children were involved in some engaging art and craft activities wherein they exhibited their colouring and creative skills. They all danced on the beats of the dhol which brought vibrancy to the environment. It was indeed a fun filled day with great learning experience.
