Spectacular Planetary Parade Observation Event
K.R. Mangalam World School, Vikaspuri, in partnership with SPACE, hosted a spectacular planetary parade observation event on 01 February 2025. The evening brought together the students of grades VI and VII with their families, to witness the marvels of the night sky.
Visitors had the rare opportunity to observe celestial wonders such as Jupiter and its magnificent moons, Venus, and the fiery red Mars through advanced telescopes. The event offered a mix of learning and fun, featuring.
The event commenced with an introduction to the planets of our solar system, where students presented their carefully crafted models. Each student explained the unique features of their assigned planet, highlighting key aspects such as size, composition, atmospheric conditions, and their role in the cosmic alignment.
Following the planetary presentations, students shared intriguing facts about the universe that left the audience captivated.
As the night sky unfolded, all attendees gathered around the telescopes to witness the celestial spectacle. Under expert guidance, students and parents took turns observing Venus, the Moon, and Jupiter. The brilliant crescent phase of Venus was a highlight, showcasing its thick atmosphere. The Moon’s surface revealed detailed craters and maria, fascinating viewers with its rugged terrain. The biggest spectacle of the night was Jupiter, where its cloud bands and four largest moons—Io, Europa, Ganymede, and Callisto—were distinctly visible.
The Cosmic Alignment Event was a resounding success, blending education, interaction, and observation to spark curiosity in young minds. The combination of student-led presentations, astronomical facts, and live telescope viewing created an immersive learning experience.
