Assessment Policy

NURSERY, K.G, AND GRADE I

No formal examinations are held for these classes. The school follows a system of assessment through a check list of assignments and observational activities in order to develop a sense of curiosity and the desire to explore.

GRADES II & III

Besides a system of assessment through assignments and observational activities, there is one cycle of unit tests (formal assignment) of 25 marks in each term and one cycle of internal assessment of 25 marks for each subject. Internal Assessment includes Reading, Creative Writing, recitation, Comprehension, Mental Math , General Awareness, and Map Reading.

GRADES IV & V

The academic session is divided into two terms: April-September and October-March.

There is one cycle of unit tests (formal assignment) of 30 marks in each term and one end-of-term assessment of 50 marks in each term.

GRADES VI - VIII

As per the new assessment policy by CBSE, the school follows the pattern of uniform assessment.

SCHOLASTIC: – GRADES VI-VIII
The academic session is divided into two terms —Term I and Term II. There is one cycle of Unit Test of 30 marks in each term and one end-of-term assessment of 80 marks in each term.

CO-SCHOLASTIC

The students are assessed in the following areas by the teachers and are graded term-wise on a 3 point grading scale (A = Outstanding, B = Very Good, C = Fair). The aspects of regularity, sincere participation, output, and teamwork are the generic criteria for grading in the following co-scholastic activities.

  • Work Education- Work Education refers to skill-based activities to inculcate a sense of social responsibility among the students.
  • Art Education (Visual and Performing Arts)
  • Health and Physical Education (sports/yoga/etc.)
  • Discipline

FOR GRADE X

CO-SCHOLASTIC: The students are assessed in the following domains: Life Skills, Work Education, Visual and Performing Arts, Attitudes and Values, Club Activities, and Health and Physical Activities.

The students are assigned grades for co-scholastic assessment on a five-point scale (A-E). The minimum qualifying grade in all subjects under the Co-Scholastic Domain is D.

FOR GRADE XI

The academic session is divided into two terms.

There is one set of unit tests in the first term and one set of unit tests in the second term. Each of the unit tests carries 30 marks. In addition to that, there is a First Term and a Final Exam for 70/80 marks each, and a Practical/Project for 20/30 marks each.

FOR GRADE XII

A public examination is held by CBSE for this class in the months of February and March, and the results are declared in May. To give enough practice for the board examination, Monday tests and various examinations are held by the school according to the scheme of examination. The students are advised to take the examinations seriously as they will be beneficial for the preparation of the board examination.
