KRM inspires its students to develop a coherent set of values that includes love of learning, personal responsibility, self-motivation, concern for others and a commitment to serve society.

TERRA CARE/ E -THERAPY

“If we want children to flourish, to become truly empowered, let us allow them to love the earth before we ask them to save it.” — David Sobel

KRM, Vikaspuri commends environmental education as a perfect way to integrate academic disciplines, stimulate the academic and social development of young minds and promote conservation of the natural environment. Our planet is currently in dire need of monumental efforts to protect its environment. Sensitizing our young learners to the environment allows them to explore environmental issues, engage in problem solving, and take action to save the environment. Consequently, they develop a deeper understanding of environmental issues and have the skills to make informed and responsible decisions. Schools must assume the responsibility of instilling the values and ethics needed to protect the environment.

Mangalites of all the grades participate in several class activities and clubs such as:

  • Conserve-O-Preserve – ECO CLUB
  • Gardening Sessions
  • Let’s Compost

HEALTHFULNESS/ WELLNESS AND MINDFULNESS

Health is a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being, and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity.

KRM believes that today’s children will be tomorrow’s global leaders. It’s our responsibility to make sure that students’ physical, emotional, and social well-being is taken care of. In this dynamic world, where demands are constantly changing, children too, are expected to match their pace with these evolving times.  To provide students with the robust foundation that is needed to lead lives that are physically, mentally, and emotionally healthy, we create and provide opportunities to stay active, fit, and healthy. Mental wellness is closely related to physical fitness. Teaching coping strategies like mindfulness is critical for the successful use of leisure and breaks from learning obligations.

The following activities are organised to ensure the mental and emotional health of our children-

  • 1 Mindful Yoga
  • 2 Meditation sessions
  • 3 Happiness Hour
  • 4 Reach for Wellness- Safety and Wellness Club
  • 5 Counselling sessions

To foster physical fitness amongst the Mangalites, the following sports activities are offered by KRMVP.

EXPRESSIONS ENHANCED

“The future belongs to the young people with an education and imagination to create.”

An Arts education helps build academic performance, while also providing alternative opportunities to reward the skills of the children who learn differently. For this, KRMVP has always taken an initiative to incorporate Arts in academic learning. The performing arts curriculum strives to nurture each student’s special talent and enthusiasm, provide the opportunity for students to explore and develop a passion for performing arts, and through performance, raise the community’s awareness about the performing arts. The critical need of the present – day education is not only the focus on academics, but also critical thinking, problem solving, and enhancing expressions. The different activities and programmes designed under this category which aim to foster the confidence, self-worth, inter and intra personal skills in our students are:

  • MUN

NURTURING HUMANITY

Human values are latent in every human being; one cannot acquire them from outside. They have to be elicited from within. As mentioned, humanity cannot be learnt; it is attained by humane practices. KRMVP has initiated different programmes keeping in mind to serve humanity. These programmes help students to realise the innate goodness and help in achieving excellence by focusing on human values.

KRMVP continues to nurture humanity through:

  • 1 The Disaster Management Club
  • 2 Community Outreach Programme
  • 3 National Service Scheme (NSS)
  • 4 National Cadet Corps (NCC)
  • 5 Scouts and Guides

“Being human is a given. But keeping your humanity is a choice.”

BEYOND BOUNDARIES

“Children must be taught how to think, not what to think.”

The words find resonance when one ponders on the importance of education in the global society. It is undeniable that the world is becoming more interconnected than ever before. In today’s global society, students benefit from the ability to communicate and work with a wide variety of people from diverse corners of the world, all with varying perspectives and experiences. Incorporating global knowledge and experiences in the curriculum helps students to identify the global phenomenon that affects or connects different regions. They gain knowledge about different global issues.

To empower our future global citizens, different programmes and activities are:

  • 1 Umpteen physical and virtual exchange programmes
  • 2 Participation in international competitions and events
  • 3 Clubs like Ted Ed (Students discuss about the global phenomenon)
  • 4 International School Award (ISA) – KRM is a proud recipient of the International Dimension in Schools accreditation by the British Council for three consecutive terms.

FUTURE READINESS

KRM guides its students on the path to self-discovery, hand-holding them with patience, and supporting them as they make decisions based on their interests and caliber, leading to long-term satisfaction with their choices and a life lived with purpose.

Alongside students, K. R. Mangalam also encourages its facilitators to stay updated with new and advanced teaching methodologies through various professional development programmes.

PARENT ENGAGEMENT/ PARENT SUPPORT

At K.R. Mangalam, parents play an equally important role as the teachers in the positive development of a child’s talents. The qualifications, achievements, and positions of the parents are taken into consideration to create various decision-making committees, which in turn play a key role in matters of specialization, dynamic coaching, special facilities and theme functions.

Parents jointly work with the school to provide an educational environment to foster lateral thinking and provide a caring environment where every child grows naturally without fear or favour. Values of compassion, tolerance, self-respect, dignity and learning for knowledge equally emanate from home as much as from the school. Parents from diverse cultures and backgrounds are given ample opportunities to share their customs, so that the inter-mixing of cultures widen the spectrum of knowledge and provide for the values of sharing and understanding between children.

NEOTERIC LEARNING/ PACE SETTER

The best way to predict the future is to invent it.

Today's children have the potential of making the world a better place tomorrow. Let's get together to nurture and encourage such potential. With the rapid technological development of society, there’s a need to identify several
skills that need to be acquired by students in order to thrive in the age of smart digital technologies and smart machines. With AI (Artificial Intelligence) taking over our daily activities and playing a significant part in a variety of areas, educating our children about the relevance of AI and its fundamental applications may provide significant value to their lives and give them a competitive edge.

Keeping pace with the ever-evolving technology, the school believes in rendering education through Inquiry-based learning (IBL) which is a student-centred approach driven by students’ questions and their innate curiosity. It kindles a sense of curiosity and helps them develop a passion for exploration and learning.

Some of the modules to enrich modern learning at KRM are:

  • 1 ROBOTICS
  • 2 GAMIFICATION
  • 3 DESIGN THINKING
  • 4 WE MATTER- MATH & SCIENCE CLUB
  • 5 EVOLVE AHEAD – PERSONALITY DEVELOPMENT
  • 6 TECH WIZARD CLUB

TALK SERIES (TOWARDS ALIGNED LEARNING & KNOWLEDGE)

Education is not the affair of ‘telling’ and being told, but an active and constructive process’ ~ John Dewey

We, at K.R. Mangalam World School, Vikas Puri have incorporated the approach of holistic health for our school students. As students’ progress from one grade to another, there are a host of developmental changes that they go through. These include physical, social, emotional, psychological and behavioural aspects; and both the parents as well as the children need proper guidance to go through these transitions.

To adapt and adjust well with the changing demands of society, the school emphasizes on life skills education as an integral part of the entire education system. Experiential and Reflective workshops are conducted on topics like-

  • 1 Self-awareness
  • 2 Empathy
  • 3 Critical thinking
  • 4 Creative thinking
  • 5 Decision making
  • 6 Problem Solving
  • 7 Effective communication
  • 8 Interpersonal relationship
  • 9 Coping with stress
  • 10 Coping with emotions
