NSS National Service Scheme (NSS)

Everyone has a purpose in life and a unique talent to give to others, and when we blend this unique talent with service to others, we experience the ecstasy and exultation of our own spirit, which is the ultimate goal of all good.

The National Service Scheme [NSS] is an Indian government-sponsored scheme and is under the Ministry of Sports & Youth Affairs. It was launched to build the character of students and younger generations via community service. It is a voluntary association of young students of classes XI & XII.

Not Me But You, the slogan of the NSS, represents the concept of community living and promotes the need for selfless service. Its vision is based on the assumption that an individual’s welfare is mainly dependent on society’s wellness overall, so the participants of the NSS work for society’s well-being.

The National Service Scheme was started at KRM to establish a meaningful linkage between the campus and the community. NSS volunteers devote a total of 240 hours of social service over a two-year period. Every year, the NSS volunteers dedicate 20 hours of community service. NSS provides an opportunity for students in the capacity of volunteers to venture out of their comfort zones and make a difference to society.

In past, K R MANGALAM NSS volunteers undertook various activities such as: Slum Area Visit , Swachhata Activities, Debates, Plantation Ceremony, Rally on Jal Shakti and NGO Visit.
